PROJECT EXCELLENCE AWARD
The ASME IPTI Project Excellence Award is awarded to  innovative and ground breaking projects. The award recognizes excellence in engineering, project management and acknowledges innovative projects. It highlights the importance of  professional engineering and project management in achieving high performance in projects.

Purpose
The purpose of this award is to recognize projects that have demonstrated design and/or construction excellence in petroleum related projects. Projects should demonstrate significant achievement through engineering design or construction concepts, use of new or existing analytical techniques, or use of new or existing technology. The project should emphasize design excellence and innovation as well as innovative techniques for the construction of projects related to petroleum related endeavors.

This award is presented at the Annual Awards Gala in November.
 


WOELFEL BEST MECHANICAL ENGINEERING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Presented to a company or organization for outstanding petroleum mechanical engineering achievement displayed at OTC. One achievement award plus four awards of merit are given each year.

AWARDED AT THE ASME PRIVATE COCKTAIL RECEPTION on the first day of OTC each year.
The submission deadline for OTC 2010 is April 1st.

OTC INNOVATION AWARD

The OTC Innovation Award is presented to a company or organization that has made a significant contribution in the field of petroleum mechanical engineering, as displayed by their entry in the Woelfel Best Mechanical Engineering Achievement Award Competition. This award is bestowed by the ASME Judging Committee when the award is justified by the content of submissions. The division may grant one or several awards at one conference.

GEOCA MECHANICAL ENGINEERING ACHIEVEMENT AWARD (Oil Drop)
Established in 1965 as an extraordinary award for distinguished and meritorious achievement or service in the field of petroleum mechanical engineering, this award is named after former chair of the petroleum division and former member of the ASME Board of Governors, Karl Geoca.

This awards seeks quality applicants with significant experience and contributions to the field of mechanical engineering. Patents are a good indication of said contributions. One recipient per year is chosen and he/she must be a mechanical engineer.

LUBINSKI BEST PAPER AWARD
Once per annum, the petroleum division honors the best petroleum mechanical engineering paper presented at OTC. The award is given to encourage high standards of quality in the papers presented at OTC. The originator of the ASME Study Committee for the Exchange of Offshore Information that led to the formation of OTC was Arthur Lubinski, for whom this award is named. He received the Petroleum Division award for his work in 1968.

SILVER PATENT AWARD
Patents are a major achievement in the career path of a petroleum mechanical engineer. ASME's petroleum division seeks to encourage and recognize engineers holding patents. Each year, the division gives one ASME Petroleum Division member who has received at least 25 U.S. patents the Silver Patent Award.

RHODES PETROLEUM INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP AWARD (Oil Drop)
The Rhodes Petroleum Industry Leadership Award, named for former ASME International president and petroleum division chair, Allen R. Rhodes, was established by the Petroleum Division of the ASME as an award for significant contribution to the petroleum industry demonstrated through management and motivational skills, entrepreneurship, innovative methods and outstanding leadership within the corporate structure and in the industry as a whole.  This award is given once per year.

AWARDED AT THE ASME AWARDS & VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION GALA.
Special Requirements: Currently registered interest in the Petroleum Division.

ROSS KASTOR EDUCATOR'S AWARD
Recognizes dedication to improving engineering and science awareness for students and the enhancement of education for future leaders. The recipients must have a strong interest in furthering student education.

ASME EXCEPTIONAL VOLUNTEER AWARD Established by the staff of the Petroleum Division to recognize a volunteer who has exemplied extraordinary qualities such as professionalism, commitment and initiative.

TITANIUM CRAWFISH AWARD
Presented for outstanding citizenship in the petroleum industry. Nominated by Crawfish Boil Awards Committee. Award is a titanium trophy provided by Dass Machine.

AWARDED AT THE ASME/UH CAJUN CRAWFISH BOIL AND THE ASME AWARDS AND VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION GALA.

HENRY R. WORTHINGTON MEDAL
Bestowed for eminent achievement in the field of pumping machinery, i.e., areas of research, development, design, innovation, management, education, or literature. Administered by the Worthington Medal Committee of the Petroleum Division.

AWARDED AT SITE CHOSEN BY WORTHINGTON MEDAL COMMITTEE.

SOICHIRO HONDA MEDAL
Recognizes an individual for an outstanding achievement or series of significant engineering contributions in developing improvements in the field of personal transportation. No restrictions on recipients.

Administered by Honda Medal Committee of the Energy Resources Group.

ASME DEDICATED SERVICE AWARD
Presented in honor of dedicated voluntary service to the Society marked by outstanding performance, demonstrated effective leadership, prolonged and committed service, devotion, enthusiasm, and faithfulness.

ADMINISTERED BY ASME.

ASME FELLOW NOMINATION
Recognizes exceptional engineering achievements and contributions to the engineering profession. The ASME Fellow membership grade is the highest elected grade.
